PRESS RELEASES

Fall Festival consists of five and a half days of equestrian events. Breed Show runs all day Wednesday and Thursay. Dressage Show starts Thursday morning and runs through Sunday. Regional championships classes run all four days. Internationally recognized CDI-W Saugerties start with the FEI Jog Thursday evening. CDI classes run Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS

Fall Festival is held on the grounds of HITS (Horse Shows in the Sun) Saugerties NY facility. Saugerties is on the west side of the Hudson River, in the foothills of the Catskills, 100 miles north of New York City. This world class facility is 180 miles from the intersection of Mass Pike and Route 495 outside Boston. Take Mass Pike west to the end and merge onto New York Thruway Interstate 87. Take 87 south to Exit 20.

HITS FACILITY FEATURES

Fall Festival and the Marshall Sterling Hunter Jumper Finals are both held at this facility. Marshall Sterling will use Grand Prix Stadium, two Schooling Rings and barns 1 - 6. NEDA will use the Hunter Stadium and the rings around it and barns 7-14.

STABLING
538 permanent stalls (10' x 12') in 7 new barns for Open Stabling. FEI Barn of 80 stalls (12' x 12') for FEI Stabling. FEI warm up for CDI horses only.

New in 2012, 25 stalls in the front barns 1-6 will be available for Breed Show horses.

FOOTING
Seven sand performance arenas, including Hunter Stadium. Five sand warm up areas. Lunging area large enough for eight horses.

NEDA VIP HOSPITALITY
NEDA VIP facilities overlooking centerline of the main arena offer morning and lunch hospitality, as well as afternoon wine and cheese. Reserved tables are available at $600 duration of show, or reserved seats at $100.

In addition, two tickets, unreserved seating, are provided for anyone who supports the show as vendor, program advertisor, or donor of product for prizes.

ADDITIONAL HOSPITALITY
Large cafeteria / restaurant with indoor and covered outdoor seating. Second restaurant near NEDA headquarters. Bar with liquor license. Coffee shop with internet access. Two indoor toilet facilities, one with showers.

ENTRANCE TO FACILITY
There are five entrances to the facility. See HITS Facility Map for details. CDI horses must enter at Gate A and cross grounds to get to FEI Stabling. Other NEDA competitors use gates B and C near Barns 7-13. Unload horses and move rigs to long term parking across Washington Avenue Extension for long term parking.

ADMISSION
Spectator admission may be charged by the HITS beneficiary on the weekend


GOLF CARTS

The HITS facility is large and some sort of "transportation" is recommended. Note only those with driver's license may drive any vehicles. Golf Cart vendor Dever Inc. will be on grounds for competitor rentals. Supply is limited amd advance reservations are recommended.

HOTELS ~ RESTAURANTS

Saugerties is a small town with limited hotel facilities. Kingston (10 miles south) offers more selections. It is necessary to make reservations early! There are small roadside motels along Interstate 87, north of the grounds. There are bed and breakfasts in Saugerties and Woodstock. Occasionally private facilities are available. Check the NEDA Bulletin Board.

BLOCK OF ROOMS FOR NEDA COMPETITORS
There is a limited block of reduced price rooms at the Kingston Holiday Inn for NEDA competitors. Show Management and Officials are also staying at this facility. Coffee shop, bar, indoor pool. Ten miles south of Saugerties, a quick drive down the thruway.
