Guidelines for the 2007
$3500  New England Breeder's Futurity Class.

Purpose: A New England Sport Horses Breeders Futurity Class will be offered at the New England Dressage Fall Breed Show to provide recognitions and rewards to Breeders of Quality Sport Horses in the New England area.

Eligibility: All Offspring, 3yrs and younger, sired by stallions participating in the NEDA Stallion Auction are eligible to enter the class for 2 years, the year in which the stallion donates and the following year.  Eligible offspring must submit, with the class entry form, a copy of the entree's registration papers or a certificate of pedigree or a copy of the foals breeding service certificate (if the foals is unregistered or the registration is not yet processed) for proof of parentage to enter the class.

Participating Stallion List: The "Participating Sires List" includes Stallions who donated breeding services to the NEDA Stallion Auction (which runs Jan - March annually). Stallions remain on the "Participating Stallion list" for the two years, the year in which they donate a service and the following year.

Entries: All entries into the Futurity Class must be submitted on a standard show entry form. Entries are subject to all the terms, conditions and agreements of the Standard show entry form and show requirements.

Prize money: Prize money for the Futurity Class will be funded by the current NEDA Stallion Auction
The $3,500 Purse will be distributed as follows:

Three checks will be distributed for each placing.
Checks will be given to person who picks up and signs for awards for the placing.
This person accepts responsibility for distributing them to the correct Owner / Breeder / Stallion Owner.

In 2001 and 2002 award monies were:

Class Format: Class format will be determined by number of entries in the class.
Class judging may be done in a group format or individually depending on number of entries, ages of participants and the judges preference.

Advertising: The addition of the Futurity Class should be included in all Fall Show publications, including a list of stallion who's offspring are eligible to compete.

This includes:
           All NEDA Fall Festival advertising
           Chronicle of the Horse.
           Final Prize list and Show program.
           Time schedule packets sent to Competitors.
           Flyers at the upcoming NEDA clinics.
           Advertised on the NEDA web site.
           Stallion owners will help spread the word to Eligible entries.
