NEDA has an awesome new website that has much more functionality than our old site. We are ourselves just beginning to understand how much it can do for us. NEDA is an organization without an offi ce or a permanent staff . We have invested in our website, thinking of it as our virtual offi ce. And it’s even better than a real office because it lives right in the home of every NEDA member, just a click away.
We are beginning to make changes in how we do business to take advantage of our website’s many capacities. The fi rst things you will notice are that your monthly Tip will be thinner and more streamlined — forms and applications will no longer be printed in the Tip. It’s so easy to renew membership online, sign up for events, activities, and even apply for demo rider status, and we are saving money by not adding the pages to the Tip that these forms traditionally have occupied. Show reports and highlights will still be featured in the Tip, but full show results will all be online.
Be on the alert for an email about the election of officers and board members, as the ballot will no longer be mailed. It’s really easy to vote online.
These changes will save both money and manpower for NEDA, keeping your dues reasonable and services high. If you’re like me, you may need a little help to learn to navigate the website, sign up for your own password and user name and get all set up. Not to worry. Tammy Paparella is ready to assist you. She has been intimately involved with the design and setup of the new site and is managing the transition for all of us. Don’t hesitate to email her (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you’re having diffi culty. We anticipated plenty of startup and conversion questions and Tammy is ready to help.
Of course, if you really can’t handle the technology, you can always print the forms from the website, fi ll them out by hand and mail them to us, or, if necessary, we can mail the forms to you, whatever you need. Call (978.422.2324) or email Tammy and let her know what you need. We continually try to make your member experience a positive one, and to make it easy for you to get involved and participate in NEDA’s many activities.
