The Association for the Promotion of the Art of Horsemanship in America (APAHA), a non-profit organization founded by Bettina Drummond, is hosting a musical ride event on September 30, 2018.  The day will feature rides by Bettina Drummond on Mimi and Macho, Allison Kavey on Citha Utopia and rides by several other riders and horses participating in the APAHA program.  Live music will accompany many of the rides.  The event will start at 10 am with Bettina Drummond’s first ride and will run through 4pm.  Attendance at the event is free, a donation of $25 and an advance reservation is requested for those wishing to partake in the BBQ lunch. Proceeds from the event will help support the APAHA program.  For more information go to www.APAHA.US

APAHA is dedicated to supporting educational opportunities that advance horsemanship as an art form in America. By providing opportunities for professional riding teachers and trainers to learn on trained horses, APAHA is working to ensure that horsemanship as an art form is preserved for future generations.

Bettina Drummond is highly regarded in both the United States and Europe. She teaches the French Classical method of dressage and is a practicing Baucheriste trainer, following the tradition of the Portuguese Master Nuno Oliveira, who achieved his phenomenal results by grafting the principles of Baucher onto a classical foundation. Bettina spent 17 years in training with Master Oliveira, beginning at age seven. She earned the coveted spurs awarded to instructors at 17, and was recognized as a master trainer at 21. She was also influenced and coached by some of Europe’s finest trainers, including General Durand, Ecuyer en Chef and Commandant of the French National Equestrian School in Samur, and Lieutenant Colonel Paolo Angioni of the Italian Cavalry. Based in Washington, CT, Bettina travels across the U.S. and to France to teach and train. She can occasionally be found performing exhibitions with fabulous horses, many of which are her own Lusitanos.
