2016-2017  USDF / NEDA "L" program

USDF "L” Program to be Hosted by NEDA

The ever popular USDF “Learner” judge's program will again be hosted by NEDA, starting  in October of 2016.  Part I, three  lecture and practice judging weekends, can be attended by anyone but would be of most interest to dressage riders, trainers and instructors as well as serving as continuing education for USEF licensed dressage judges.

30 people can be accepted as Participants and another 40 as Auditors.  Participants are required to attend all three Part I weekends, a criteria for Part II, which involves evaluation and testing.

Part I ~ Session dates & locations:

Part I-A ~ October 15-16, 2016 ~ Natick, MA & Millis, MA ~ taught by Kathy Rowse and will cover an introduction to Judging and Biomechanics.

Part I-B ~ November 19-20, 2016 ~ Natick, MA & Millis, MA ~ taught by Joan Darnell and will cover judging criteria for gaits and paces, movements and figures.

Part I-C ~ April 8-9, 2017 ~ Natick, MA & Millis, MA ~ taught by Janet Foy and will cover the basics, collective marks on gaits, impulsion, submission and the rider.

NEDA Spring Dressage, May 2017 ~ Marshfield, MA (Instructor: Trenna Atkins)

GMHA, July 2017 ~ Woodstock, VT (Instructor: Bill Solyntjes)

NEDA Fall Festival, September 2017
~ Saugerties, NY (Examiners: Bill Solyntjes and Debbie Riehl-Rodriguez)

1. Please submit a separate registration for each person. If you are a NEDA member please sign in first and your member discount will be applied. If you are not a NEDA member and wish to join to get member pricing, please visit the "PARTICIPATE / Become a Member" menu option on this web site.

3. Auditors are not eligible to apply for Part II, Evaluation and Testing.
4. You will receive more information along with your confirmation via email or US mail.
5. Applications are accepted as of the date they are received by the Auditor Registrar. Places are limited to approximately 40. Walk-in rates apply 10 days prior to each event and accepted only if seating is available. Walk-in fees are in addition to the pre-registration fees listed.
6. Saturday lectures will be at the Hampton Inn, Natick, MA. Sunday practice judging and discussion will be at Apple Knoll Farm, Millis MA. (Specific information to follow).
7. Lunches must be pre-ordered at least two weeks prior to each event. The hotel does have a restaurant or you are welcome to bring a lunch. There is no food on site at Apple Knoll.
