NEDA’s two biggest events of the year are coming right up.  Will you be there?

USDF Region 8 Dressage and Breed championships as headliners at NEDA Fall Festival take place September 17 through 20 at HITS in Saugerties, New York.  It may be the biggest dressage show in the US, it is certainly the most fun, especially now that NEDA has the expansive HITS grounds to itself.  In addition to star quality rides to watch at both the championships and the CDI, there are numerous vendors, both permanent and there just for us, old friends from around the region that you haven’t seen for ages, a fabulous competitor’s party on Saturday night, and for class and show sponsors, a VIP tent beyond compare during the entire show. NEDA needs an army of volunteers to pull this complex event off, and it’s not too late to offer your services and get breakfast, lunch and accommodations for free! Sign up at  See you there!

We have secured US Dressage Chef d’Equipe Robert Dover for our fall symposium October 17 and 18 at world class Pinelands Equestrian Center in southern Maine. A three hour drive or less from most parts of New England will put you in a beautiful heated arena (not thinking about that now, but you will be soon enough, sadly!) with top horse/rider combinations demonstrating common challenges in training and showing horses at all levels and publicly working through approaches and solutions with Robert that will improve YOUR OWN riding and training. Robert has ridden and competed at the highest levels for many years, including six Olympics, four world championships and seven World Cups.  We have witnessed his engaging and effective symposium leadership in a past NEDA symposium and are lucky to have snagged him for a return visit amidst a busy international schedule. There are price breaks for pre-registration and advance hotel accommodations, so don’t delay in signing up at

NEDA tries hard to bring opportunities to dressage enthusiasts in New England to which they would not normally have access. Over the years, it has been NEDA’s efforts to introduce riders and trainers to international level quality knowledge and training that have built dressage into a premier sport in New England.  Come out and support your regional organization at one or both of these events. Doing so will insure that such opportunities continue to come your way.
